Free Calls are provided by Virgin Media to Virgin Mobile numbers!!

This move will save money on calls made to mobiles from landlines!!

Virgin Media has planned to include the Virgin Mobile numbers in all of its free calls packages relevant to Virgin phone and broadband tariffs. Virgin said this will be effective from 1st of April, and it was designed to save customers money. They also revealed that £1.6bn is spent every year on calling mobile phones from UK landlines. Only landline numbers are included in the free calls packages currently.

"At a time when other providers seem keen on giving their customers less from their phone service, we are extremely proud to be leading the way in this field, being the first to offer free home phone to mobile calls," said Graeme Oxby, the executive director of mobile and telephony at Virgin Media.

He also added: "This move to include free calls to mobiles with our home phone service underlines our commitment to ensure Virgin Media customers get the best deals possible."

Manager of mobiles and broadband at Moneysupermarket.com, Mike Wilson, said: "Although the deal only includes calls to Virgin mobiles, the offer provides good value to existing Virgin Media customers and a good incentive to switch for those looking for a new deal".

"It will be interesting to see if other landline providers follow suit as the market becomes more competitive, particularly following the news TalkTalk has just announced plans to launch TV and mobile services on-top of it's existing broadband and landline offerings," he added further.
