NTL, Telewest and virgin.net- these have united to form what is now known as Virgin Media. It is the very first broadband service provider that offers quad play services, which in turn means, it offers TV, broadband, phone and mobile all together.
Thus, anyone who looks forward to combine all these services should definitely go for Virgin Media. In terms of its broadband only packages, size M will be sufficient for most users and unlimited downloads make it ideal for families. Those who want extra speed should consider paying more for either the broadband L or broadband XL package.
What do you need?
- Virgin Media broadband can be accessed with either a fibre optic cable (on cable) or with a BT phone line (non cable).

Hi! I have had 20meg broadband from virgin since long one year. I give £40.00 for Internet accessing and phoneline at 4pm. I get 5meg till 12pm maybe later,so what is the need to upgrade 2meg consumers to 10meg. If there is a hassle like traffic problem and bandwith problem, then I'm downgrading to 10meg and had box and more large TV and practically no limit for phone calls by just paying £30.00. The same is getting by a friend who had just installed this service.

I have been using Virgin Media from last three years. I faced some small problems at the beginning but that were quickly resolved after e-mailing them stating the problems. After that, I never faced any problem with this service.

I first consulted Virgin Media for information. I was informed that they carried out a line check and I would get a speed between 5 and 6 mbps. I found it quite satisfactory and decided to sign up to a 12 month contract. But when the service was installed then I was told that I would get maximum speed of 1.5 mbps, I never get more than 1.2. Not at all reliable. I will definitely change the service as soon as my contract ends
